Dhayoung Yoon piano recital at St Sepulchre’s Holborn

Dhayoung YoonDhayoung Yoon was born in 1989 in South Korea. She started playing the piano at the age of 6 giving her first public performance at the age of 8.

In 2002, she came to England to study with Ilana Davids at the Purcell School of Music where she received scholarships throughout the entire course of her study. She was a finalist at the school’s senior concerto competition and played at master classes and at festivals directed by some of the world’s leading artists.

In 2007, she went to Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she has recently graduated with MMus in performance with distinction. While studying at GSMD with professor Peter Bithell, she was awarded with Alec Beecheno Bursaury, Edith Vogal award and Rachmaninov award. She was the first musician to be supported by the Worshipful Company of Tinplate Makers and gained opportunities to play at London’s livery halls including Saddler’s Hall and Draper’s Hall. During her time at the Purcell School and at GSMD she gave numerous recitals and chamber music concerts in venues around the UK.
