Idiotape

MTV said ‘If Cut Copy, Daft Punk and Chromeo had a Korean baby, they would beget the funkatastic, celebratory disco house trio Idiotape. They’ve been getting audiences in Korea jumping manically and now they’re preparing for global domination.’ That was when they were first heading for SXSW – since then, they’ve cross-crossed the States, played Glastonbury and stormed festivals from Exit to Trans Musicales. They sound like a sixties pop band with a mighty drummer, fed through an analog synthesizer and turned into a dance phenomenon.

Patients

Patients start with the same influences, stir in a punk sensibility (they run their own club in Seoul, called Steel Face Rooftop 3639) and have triumphed at Liverpool Sound City while touring across the UK. Getintothis enthused ‘killer hooks and great melodies – Patients could be Korea’s answer to The Clash’.

Rich Mix Shoreditch has a dancefloor – Idiotape and Patients will make sure it gets well used.
