Jar

Thrown and glazed porcelain, by Kim Suk-hwan (born 1932), 1970 - 1990.
Kim has exhibited widely in her native country and internationally. In addition to white porcelain, she also produces brown-glazen stoneware. This tall jar (around 2 foot tall) is heavily potted. Its irregular profile recalls the ceramics of the Chosun period (1392-1910) in Korea, when plain white vessels were produced in quantity.
