I’m happy to take adverts with a Korean angle. At present, the service is free. Maybe one day I’ll ask for a contribution - maybe you buy me a Korean-related book from my Amazon wishlist. At present, daily readership of this site is in the region of 150-250.

I’ll work on the design of this page so that if I have more than a couple of ads the display order will be random, but at the moment there’s no need for that.

Please note that I do no due diligence on the advertisers (though I will not publish something that is obviously distasteful). The ads are published in good faith and I accept no liability if things don’t turn out as you might wish.

Urgent Java Developer - London, Docklands

My Client, an international manufacturing company, is looking for a Java Developer to join their growing IT team. In order to be suitable for this position you MUST have a minimum of 18 months Java Development experience. Knowledge of Swing or WebSphere or a basic understanding of VisualAge would be advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will be involved in the migration of legacy applications in to web based applications.

My client is particularly interested in Korean speaking candidates.

JOB ROLE

  • Providing excellent customer service and technical solutions to customers.
  • Working in a team based environment supporting your team in achieving the highest quality standards
  • Provide a personalised response to all inbound emails/phone calls received whilst providing a positive customer’s experience through efficient, friendly, high quality responses
  • Proactively seek feedback on ways to improve personal performance
  • Take ownership to ensure closure for all issues which cannot be resolved whilst dealing with the customer/Assisting product specialists to find resolutions
  • Take part in, and encourage active participation in team discussion activities and focus groups

SKILL SET

  • Fluent written/spoken Korean and English
  • Drive and determination to grow with the business
  • Technical knowledge - knowledge of email, internet, computer
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to learn new products during training

Full-time, permanent role. 40 hours per week within an 8:00am - 8:00pm shift pattern (TBC).

Salary: £12,272 p/a (TBC)

RELOCATION

For those that are relocating, we offer an attractive relocation package. Flights will be reimbursed up to the cost of 150 Euro and on arrival we accommodate the first 4 nights stay in a city centre bed and breakfast. We have a relocation adviser within gem who will offer ongoing help and assistance until you get settled. We offer help in opening up bank accounts, applying for National Insurance numbers and accommodation.
