Chatham HouseAs part of Chatham House’s Asia Programme there will be a talk given by Jasper Becker on the topic of The Challenge of North Korea to Regional and Global Stability next Thursday afternoon, August 17th. Biographical information provided by Chatham House follows:

Jasper Becker is one of the UK’s most respected writers and journalists on Asia. He has lived in China for much of the last 15 years, working for the Guardian, the Independent, and the South China Morning Post. He is the author of ‘Hungry Ghosts’. an acclaimed history of the Famines in China in the late 1950s, `The Chinese’ and most recently ‘Rogue Regime’, an account of North Korea and leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong il. Mr Becker has lectured widely throughout the US and Europe.
