A group of LKL contributors had gathered at Myungga in Kingly Street to celebrate LKL’s third birthday (yes, LKL first appeared on the web using the londonkoreanlinks.net domain name on 2 March 2006). It was a merry crew – Blogmeister Philip was joined by author and roving reporter Jennifer Barclay; documenter of Korean national cultural treasures Matthew Jackson; K-pop pundit Saharial; DPRK-follower Michael Rank and all-round good egg Peter Corbishley; plus photographer Jo Seong-hee and publicist Francesca Cho.
Half way through the evening, Soo Kim from YTN news joined us. She had been filming an interview with Meeting Mr Kim author Jennifer and wanted to get some vox pop from some people who’d read the book. Matthew and Philip gamely volunteered, so in between the tteokbokgi and the bulgogi (and partially fuelled with Asahi) we gave an impromptu speil at the top of the stairs down to the loos. Fortunately the toe-curling drivel that I spouted was edited down to a brief 5 seconds.
The little feature can be found on YTN here.
