Notice of some innovative language classes this summer at the Cultural Centre. Particularly fun is “Korean through TV Dramas”, which will take an episode of a Korean soap and walk you through the key colloquialisms and vocabulary. 08/09 2009 (Tue) 18.30~20.30This summer the Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCC) will start a summer course from 22nd August 2009 ~ 9th September 2009. This programme will provide you with optimal opportunities for learning Korean and discovering Korean culture.
Course 1: Korean through TV dramas
This class teaches the Korean language through authentic extracts from a real Korean TV Drama. The classes will analyse the extracts, giving explanations of important vocabulary, grammar and expressions, and students will get the chance to role-play the scenes themselves.
Class times: Sat 11.15 ~ 13.15 / Wed 18.30 ~ 20.30
Level: Students must have completed Beginners 2 (or be of the equivalent level)
Number of Students: 20
Course 2: Survival Korean
This class teaches basic phrases and expressions needed when traveling in Korea. Students will learn how to order food in restaurants, reserve hotel rooms, describe basic symptoms to a doctor, etc. In addition, we will look at ways to strike up simple conversations with the people you meet.
Class times: Sat 14.00~16.00 / Tues 18.30~20.30
Level: Students must have completed Beginners 1 (or be of the equivalent level)
Number of Students: 20
Registration
Students may only register for one class. Priority will be given to students who took classes at the Centre during the April-July 2009 term.
Students may cancel their application and receive a refund of the course fee up to three days before the start of the course.
Course materials will be provided during the course.
