LKL was featured in a one-page interview in the Donga Weekly dated 1 December 2009. I had a quick email interview with a reporter based in Glasgow about my views on Korean film, Korean food, and the promotion of Korean culture abroad, plus the normal questions about how I got mixed up with Korean stuff in the first place. Now I need someone to translate it back into English to see how much of the original text made it through the editorial process: I provided a lot more material than made it in to print. But I can see that the reporter has supplemented the interview with material from my somewhat downbeat review of the Yu Hyun-mok retrospective.
The interview is also in the online edition. Thanks to Mr Roh at the Korean Cultural Centre for putting the Donga Weekly in touch with me.
I can have a go at translating that if you’ve not yet found anybody…
Thanks for the offer – but I’ve now got the general gist courtesy of Babelfish.
