Samulnori is the contemporary form of a rural percussion tradition in Korea, stretching back into antiquity. The rhythms played in Samulnori are said to create balance in the cosmos, combining yin and yang. This interactive Samulnori workshop will be a delightful journey into the indigenous music of Korea. The powerful rhythms of the four percussion instruments will help you relieve your stress and regain passion and energy.

Kkwaenggwari (small gong – “Thundering sound”)
Jing (large gong – “Wind-blowing sound”)
Janggu (hourglass-shaped drum – “rain-dropping sound”)
Buk (bass barrel drum – “Sound of clouds”)
