The DMZ as eco-tourism – and as a garden

South Korea is turning the DMZ into eco-tourism zone, says Lucy Williamson on the BBC. Hwang Jihae’s DMZ Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show this year is looking increasingly relevant.

    • Han Eui-jong I would definitely want to visit.. A sad reality of the division of the South and the North but undisturbed since 1945! The unique piece of land in the Korean peninsula.

      Poor animals will be in shock. Hopefully, they should build specially raised platform routes so that the nature would be least touched prior to the opening up to the public.

    • MiNGLED When I was lucky enough to visit the DMZ, they said it was a haven for wildlife as no people could be there (except for the solders) due to the millions of mines. So the wildlife is mainly undisturbed.
