Love Talk screens at the KCC

After all the hectic activity of the Olymic fortnight it’s time for something more restful. Lee Yoon-ki is a director that divides opinion, but on balance his delicate and restrained portraits have more admirers than detractors, as was evidenced by the packed house last week for This Charming Girl. Those who like something to happen in a film might be advised to wait for My Dear Enemy next week – my own particular favourite of Lee’s – but otherwise do not hesitate. I’ll certainly be there this Thursday. Reserve your seat here.

Love Talk (러브토크 – 2005)

Love Talk posterDirector: Lee Yoon-ki
Running Time: 118 mins [Cert.18] (South Korea)
Screening Date: 7PM August 16, 2012
Theatre: Multi-Purpose Hall, KCCUK

Synopsis
Ji-seok rents a room at Sunny’s, a Korean-American woman running a massage shop in LA. In this city, Ji-seok’s old girl friend Young-shin works as a radio DJ of ‘Love Talk’. Ji-seok and Young-shin happen to meet and share a conversation, but their relationship does not proceed any further. Ji-seok feels pity for Sunny, who manages her lonely life. As in This Charming Girl, his direction with delicate facial expressions and fine motions makes this film outstanding.
