“Rising Stars” lunchtime classical recitals at the KCC

KMUSIC_LUNCH_sqAs part of the K-music festival the KCC is presenting a series of lunchtime recitals by 10 Korean students from the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music.

Nice to see some Korean lyric songs on the programme for Wednesday, along with some Bridge and Novello. And if I had the time I’d go along for the Hindemith and Busoni earlier in the week.

Monday 17th – Friday 21st June, every day at the KCC, 1pm – 2pm, served with traditional Korean tea & snacks

MON 17 JUNE
Sohyun Park (piano) plays Schubert and Busoni
Anne Kim (violin) plays Faure

TUE 18 JUNE
Yejee Kim (flute) plays Mozart, Hindemith and Borne’s Fantasie Brillante on themes from Carmen
Min-Jeong Kim (violin) plays Mozart and Khachaturian

WED 19 JUNE
Sopranos Jiwon Chung and Jessica Choi sing arias and duets by Mozart, Poulenc, Richard Strauss, Johann Strauss, Puccini, Delibes, Frank Bridge, Ivor Novello, Isang Yun, Dongjin Kim and Young-seob Choi

THU 20 JUNE
Eunsol Park (violin) plays Bach, Ponce, Debussy and Schumann
Jihyun Chang (flute) plays CPE Bach, Paganini, Georges Hue and Faure

FRI 21 JUNE
Joseph Hyungsup Lim (clarinet) plays Saint-Saens and Chausson
Yoonseok Shin (piano) plays Clementi, Beethoven and Nikolai Kapustin
