A nice little article in the JoongAngDaily about the springtime delights of Chuncheon in Gangwon-do provides the answer. Chuncheon was the birthplace of Kim Yu-jeong (김유정), in January 1908.

I can’t say I’m particularly taken with the two short stories of his that I’ve read (Spring, Spring and Camelias), but he’s obviously much loved by the people of Chuncheon. The Kim Yu-jeong House of Literature was established there in 2002, and nearby Sinnam railway station was renamed in his honour two years later.
