Enjoying Seoul in the City so far? Me too.
I’m not sure we’ll get around to reviewing everything on LKL, but Matthew’s account of Sir Robert Harris’s talk on UK-Korea relations, and Colette’s review of Andersen’s Gazes, will both be posted soon.
There’s plenty more to come, but I wanted to share with you a special offer on what I think will be the highlight of the remainder of the Seoul in the City programme: Ensemble Sinawi. There’s details of their performance at LSO St Luke’s on 8 July here, and of their performance / workshop at SOAS on 9 July here.
During the workshop, the members of Ensemble Sinawi will introduce their traditional Korean musical instruments to the audience, and Keith Howard, Professor of Music at SOAS, will provide historical context for the performances, shedding light on the tradition and its transition to the modern music world. It’s a chance to discover a new musical world.
And there’s a special deal for LKL readers.
For those who register for the evening at SOAS on 9 July, you can get a free ticket to the performance at LSO St Luke’s the day before. So, when you register for the 9 July workshop event by emailing to [email protected], just let them know that you also want to attend the live show on 8 July. You will be able to take along a maximum of three people with you. Just let the KCC know how many you need (subject to that limit). First come, first served.
See you there!
And if any of you feel like reviewing any of the events for LKL, let me know.
