At the London Art Fair this year there’s a new exhibitor focusing on Korean artists. Skipwiths, who worked with Bernard Jacobson gallery in presenting Chun Kwang-young last year, will be at stand 35 in a collaboration with the well-known Korean gallery CAIS. In the last couple of years CAIS has focused on Art13 and Art14, and this is their first London Art Fair appearance.

The collaboration means that a range of established and emerging artists can be presented. From the CAIS stable comes Choi So-young and Chung Doo-hwa. Choi is known for her cityscapes and landscapes using recycled denim, while Chung Doo-hwa, whose work I think is new to London, presents monochrome-infused work in paper, which will sit well alongside the works by Chun Kwang-young that will also be featured.

Of the emerging artists, Kim Ha-young, whose vibrant cartoon-like works caught people’s eye last year (and who graduated from University of East London in the summer) will be joined by Lah Sun, a 2013 MA Sculpture graduate from RCA, and sculptor / photographer Park Hyo-jin.

We’re told that if you bring your cheque book along, you can buy work for as little as £1,250.

The London Art Fair runs from 21 to 25 January at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London N1 0QH.
