Performance
- There are still a couple of performances remaining of Mia Chang’s well-reviewed You for Me for You at the Jerwood Theatre upstairs at the Royal Court Theatre
- In-Sook Chappell’s new play, P’yongyang, is at the Finborough Theatre, 5 – 30 January. There is a free post-show discussion with Jihyun Park, Jim Hoare, In-Sook Chappell and members of the company on 12 Jan.
Exhibitions
- Shin Kiwoun’s exhibition Bates’s Room is at the Old Police Station until 5 Jan. There will be an artist talk at the KCC on 5 Jan.
- Christine Sun Kim’s Rustle Tustle is at Carroll / Fletcher until 30 Jan.
- UK/RAINE at the Saatchi Gallery (in which Shon Kyung-hwa participates) closes on 3 Jan.
- Heeseung Chung’s and Onejoon Che’s Dialogues of Space is on all month at the KCC
- London Art Fair is 20-24 January
- White Cube in St James’s hosts Park Seo-Bo — Ecriture 1967-1981 from 15 January
- The KCC has issued a Call for Artists for a show later in the Spring.
Screenings
- Film and TV drama screenings at the KCC have yet to be announced
- The Daehan Drama awards are at the ICA on 25 January at the ICA
Seminars and everything else
- Han Hang has launches her new novel, Human Acts, with her translator Deborah Smith, at three events in London, Norwich and then London again, 11 – 13 January.
- Chatham House hosts Sokeel Park on Social Change in North Korea on 8 January.
- SOAS’s first seminars of 2016 are 22 Jan (Hazel Smith — North Korea: Markets and Military Rule) and 29 Jan (Janet Poole — The Photograph and the Newspaper in Early Colonial Korea)
- The monthly Sewol Stay Put protest is on 16 January
