Sado

Film

  • Lee Jun-ik’s The Throne (a treatment of the life and death of Crown Prince Sado) screens at the Regent Street Cinema on 18 April (with Director Q+A) as part of a teaser for this year’s London Korean Film Festival.
  • The KCC film screenings this month are Sunny (Kang Hyoung-chul, 2011) (14 April) and the wonderful Barking Dogs Never Bite (Bong Joon-ho, 2000) (28 April). The screening on 14 April will be introduced by Dr Jinhee Choi as part of the Korean Film Night Amplified series.
  • There will be a free screening of the Sewol documentary Cruel State (나쁜나라) at the Raindance Film Centre on 16 April.
  • The Deptford Cinema hosts two Jeju-related films on 30 April: Gureombi: The Wind is Blowing + Jeju’s Aching Heart.
