Jason Bae was born in Daejeon, South Korea in 1991. At the age of twelve, he made his concerto debut with Auckland Symphony Orchestra. Since then, he has performed with Auckland Philharmonia, New Zealand National Youth Symphony, Queensland Symphony and Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. He has also given recitals in the U.K, France, the U.S.A, and Australia. Jason was awarded 1st Prize in the 2008 Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York. The following year he won 2nd prize at the 2009 Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competition in Brisbane and was selected as the New Zealand Young Performer of the Year. In 2013 he was awarded 1st Prize in the 2013 New Zealand Inaugural Wallace Piano Competition.Last year, he received his Master of Arts in piano performance with the highest distinction award, DipRAM, from the Royal Academy of Music in London under the tutelage of Christopher Elton and Joanna MacGregor.
