Event news: K-music 2016 — Jambinai, 3 Oct

It’s good to have Jambinai becoming more of a regular visitor to London. Expect some tracks from their latest album, A Hermitage. “Experimental outfit blends traditional Korean music with sky-cracking post-rock,” summarised Consequence of Sound in their album review.

Jambinai

Jambinai were the sensation of K-Music 2015 – their stunning set was called ‘thrilling, unexpected and perfectly controlled’ by The Guardian, after The Times said ‘Jambinai impressed with their genre-blurring sound, applying traditional Korean instruments to eruptive drone-rock reminiscent of Sonic Youth’ After the show, they signed to Simon Raymonde’s Bella Union label, who have just released their A Hermitage album – back to The Guardian, who nailed it in one sentence. ‘An enthralling post-rock group – imagine Godspeed You! Black Emperor melded with strange and wonderful traditional instruments’.

Now, they are back to play one special show in the perfect setting of Oslo Hackney.
