A reminder of Sewol 3rd anniversary events

Sewol 3rd anniversary poster

The Sewol ferry disaster took place three years ago, 16 April 2014. There are three ways you can mark the sad anniversary in London:

Protest

The regular monthly silent protest will be held at the north-east corner of Trafalgar Square, in front of the National Gallery, Easter Saturday, 2-4pm. The Remembering Sewol UK group has been holding this dignified protest every month since the disaster to demonstrate support for the families of the victims. This anniversary protest is expected to be larger than usual.

After the Sewol poster

For 24 hours only, on 16 April Korea time, the documentary After the Sewol by British filmmakers Neil George and Matt Root will be available to watch on Vimeo for KRW2,000.

Sewol

If you missed the screening of Ok-hee Jeong’s Sewol documentary last Saturday at Birkbeck, there’s another chance to see it at the Deptford Cinema on 25 April, with the opportunity for director Q+A afterwards.
