Many thanks to Annie Ko and Toby Hwang for a fantastic gig down in Brixton on Monday night. Featuring tracks from their recently-released album 37A – the first fruits of their crowdfunded project for 2017 in which they aim to release 37 songs during the course of the year – as well as earlier albums, the gig managed the seemingly impossible task of simultaneously being intimate (it was hard to be anything else given the size of the venue) and creating the sense of euphoria you might expect from an arena-sized concert with a crowd of thousands. Quite an achievement.
The venue seems to be one favoured by visiting Korean bands – stickers on the door record the visit of 57 and Dead Buttons in previous years.
A great evening. And the beer was good too.
You can catch Love X Stereo again at Alleycat Bar on Sunday 21st. Don’t miss it.
