Geumhyung Jeong 7ways

Discover the extraordinary work of South Korean artist Geumhyung Jeong

Geumhyung Jeong’s work invites us to rethink the conventional distinctions between performance and object. Her performances explore the dynamic between the puppeteer, the passive object and the space of suspended disbelief the audience enters.

Presented in London for the first time, 7ways is a solo performance in the form of seven ‘duets’ with everyday objects that take on an unsettling life of their own. The two ticketed performances at Tate Modern punctuate a week long presentation of Jeong’s work in the Tanks. An installation of new work is on view as a free daytime installation with live demonstrations by the artist each day.

The presentation of Geumhyung Jeong’s work at Tate Modern coincides with her solo exhibition at Delfina Foundation, Private Collection: Unperformed Objects, presented as part of the UK-Korea Year of Culture.
