His Honour Judge Saunders

Min-Kyung Kim was educated at Seoul National University gaining a BA in Business Administration 2007 and a Master in Law 2014. PhD candidate in Law.

Currently sitting at Daejeon District Court, Korea. She is now on secondment in the UK, studying at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge.

Min-kyung passed her Korean Bar Exam in 2006  which was followed by a two year mandatory course at the Judicial Research and Training Institute. She was appointed a Judge in early 2010 at the Seoul Central District Court where she served in the Special Civil Division on International Trade. In early 2012 Min-kyung joined the Seoul Northern District Court in the Civil and Criminal Appellate Divisions.

David Saunders qualified as a Solicitor in 1984 before going on to become a partner in his own firm specialising in civil and commercial litigation. He became a fee-paid Tribunal Judge in what is now the Social Security Tribunal in 1993.

He was appointed a salaried Tribunal Judge specialising in Asylum Support in 2006 which led to him giving up his practice to become a full time judicial officer. He was also appointed a Deputy District Judge sitting in the County Court in the same year. His Tribunal Judge role led to him gaining additional appointments in both Social Security and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal.

On the 22nd January 2018, David was appointed by the Queen as a Circuit Judge. He is known as His Honour Judge Saunders. He is based at the Central London County Court located at the Royal Courts of Justice where he specialises in civil cases.

The event will begin at 18:30 with welcome drinks, the presentation will be at 1900. This will be followed by a question and answer session and a networking reception with nibbles, ending at 21:00.

Open to BKS Members and their Guests.

The cost is £10.00 for members (includes partners) and £15.00 for non-members.
