KCC Special Concert: Joyful Harmonica Ensemble

Joyful Harmonica Ensemble

Joyful Harmonica Ensemble are a group of disabled musicians originally from the Daegu Sungbo School in Korea. This school encourages their students to become more involved in the cultural and arts industries by providing them opportunities to perform at a variety of venues. The nine members of Joyful Harmonica Ensemble play various types of harmonicas, such as tremolo or chord harmonicas to create a beautiful harmony.

The Ensemble have performed at schools, hospitals, detention centres and across the public sector in Korea. They have also performed across the globe at venues including in the U.S., Japan, and China. In 2018, they won the 3rd prize at the prestigious 12th Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival in Beijing.

Their most recent album was released in 2016 and on Thursday 10 January 2019 they will make their UK debut at the Korean Cultural Centre UK.
