Since its launch in 2012, the K-Pop Academy has introduced hundreds of UK-based K-Pop fans to both traditional and contemporary Korean culture through a combination of academic lectures, hands-on workshops and group discussions. We cover everything from the Korean language and history to food, martial arts, traditional dress and of course the Hallyu Wave.

With previous guest lecturers including Korean War veteran Brigadier (Retd) B.A.H Parritt CBE, Taekwondo instructor Master Jongho Kim, and academics from SOAS University and the University of Liverpool (to name a few), you’ll be taught by some of the very best experts on Korean culture – and of course, there will be networking opportunities too.

The programme will be held every Saturday afternoon for 10 weeks (28 Sep – 30 Nov 2019) at the Korean Cultural Centre UK and various venues across Central London.

Student selection is made upon a lottery-based system after an eligibility check against the following criteria:

  • You must be 16 or over
  • You must not have previously participated in the K-Pop Academy
  • You must have a keen interest in K-Pop and Korean Culture

Please send your completed application form to [email protected]. The application deadline is Wednesday, 18th September and the selection results will be announced on the 23rd September.

Don’t miss out on this chance to broaden your K-Culture horizons, meet other like-minded K-Pop fans and make lifelong friendships along the way!
