Bong Joon-ho

Taking place at Curzon cinemas in Mayfair and Soho, 2019 is the tenth year of BAFTAs annual series. The Screenwriters’ Lecture Series exists to celebrate screenwriters’ authorial contribution to film and gives esteemed writers a platform to share highlights and insights from their careers with an audience of film-lovers and their peers.

Bong Joon-ho is one of the most distinctive voices in filmmaking today. Working in both English language and his native Korean, his films embrace genre conventions while playing with the form.

Already the most successful Palme d’Or winning film, his latest feature Parasite is coming to amaze UK audiences in February 2020. Ahead of its release, this is a rare chance to hear the director talk about playing with genre conventions and making films outside your home territory and tongue.

Created by BAFTA-winning screenwriter Jeremy Brock, the series is supported by JJ Charitable Trust.
