The agenda for the 8th World Hallyu Congress hosted at Kellogg College in Oxford – but held online via Zoom – has been announced, with panel sessions on Coronavirus and Pop Culture, Netflix, Broadway and the Pandemic, Inter-Asia Cultural Exchanges and Melancholia in Pop Culture. One session, Cosmetic Surgery before and after Covid-19, will be held in Korean. A special award goes to anyone who can tell me what to expect from the final session, entitled The Blockchain Metaverse and NFTs: The Role of Immersive Digital Experiences and Unique Digital Objects within a Pandemic Reality.
The conference takes place 13-14 September. Registration is via the conference website, but if you’re not a member of the World Association for Hallyu Studies it will cost you up to $250.
