Kimchi Master Ha Yeon Lee

Ha Yeon LeeKimchi Master Ha Yeon Lee is a renowned authority in Korean traditional cuisine, specialising in kimchi — a cornerstone of Korean culture. In 2014, she was honoured as Korean Traditional Food Master No.58 in Kimchi, recognising her exceptional skill and deep expertise in the art of making and preserving this iconic dish. She has served as President of the Korea Kimchi Association, passionately promoting kimchi both domestically and internationally.
Master Lee has represented Korean cuisine at prestigious global events, including the official programme celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and the EU in Belgium, the Milano Expo in Italy, and cultural exchange programmes in Honduras, Japan, Thailand, the UK, the USA, and Vietnam. She has appeared on numerous TV and Netflix programmes, sharing her knowledge with diverse audiences and helping elevate kimchi’s global profile.
A dedicated educator and author, Master Lee has published influential works such as “My First Homemade Kimchi” and her latest, “Various Kimchis”, ensuring the preservation and evolution of Korea’s kimchi heritage for generations to come.

Yang Ja Bae

Yang Ja BaeYang Ja Bae is a renowned Korean chef, kimchi researcher, and founder & CEO of Jungsungdam. With over 20 years in the Korean food industry, she champions authentic flavours and home-style cooking through her restaurants and recipe innovations. Since 2006, she has expanded her brand to include four distinct ventures, including a charcoal-grilled restaurant and a catering buffet service alongside her original Jungsungdam restaurant. In 2018, she won the Grand Prize in the International Culinary Live Competition at the Korea World Food Championship, held at KINTEX, Ilsan.
Bae is the author of Hon-Kimchi: Kimchi for People Living Alone and Kimchi and Chan, offering simple yet flavourful recipes that adapt traditional kimchi-making for modern lifestyles. In 2025, she was appointed head of the Korea Federation of Foodservice Associations (Gangnam District), recognising her leadership and dedication to promoting Korean cuisine.
