It’s only been two years since the Berlin-based Korean DJ first caught Mixmags attention with her debut EP ‘Art of War’. But she’s been on a meteoric rise since then as Gou-mania has swept the globe.
Last year, the 27-year- old was an unavoidable force playing a staggering 150+ gigs globally, including at the likes of Panorama Bar, Concrete, Output and Sub Club to name a few. It’s easy then to see why her rolling house and bubbling acid vibes have so quickly attracted an army of avid followers – with their peculiar shoe-waving ritual.
Her forthcoming EP on Ninja Tune – which follows releases on Rekids, Phonica White and Technicolour – is also already being tipped as one of the records of the year. Don’t miss this one – and maybe bring a spare pair trainers…
