Join Kollab & Kulture for The Year Wrap Up, closing the 2025 programme with two live performances — Ka Youn Yoo, who has presented new music monthly through Kollab & Kulture this year, and RITO, a contemporary music collective reimagining Korean tradition as modern ritual.

This end-of-year edition looks back at a year of collaborative film, art, and music, gathering our community for an evening of shared sound and reflection.

Artists

Ka Youn Yoo (유가연)

South Korean composer and film scorer trained at the Royal College of Music. As a monthly featured musician at Kollab & Kulture throughout 2025, she has developed and presented new works blending Korean musical influence, contemporary composition, and film scoring. Her music has appeared at Cadogan Hall, the National Gugak Center, and BFI venues, and she collaborates widely with emerging filmmakers across London.

RITO (리토)

RITO is a contemporary music collective rooted in Korean tradition, reimagining sound as a modern ritual. Their work explores two core ideas:

  • Ritual – Sound as a perceptual and temporal opening.
  • Tori – The regionally distinct melodic grammar of Korean traditional music.

Combining piri, traditional percussion, and live electronics, RITO creates hybrid sonic rituals that transcend time and geography. At the heart of their identity lies Tori (調理), the melodic dialect shaping emotional colour, phrasing, and cultural memory. Through electronic sound and improvisation, RITO forges a new musical language for contemporary ritual performance.

Members: EDITH, KANG SAN, SEAYOOL
