Member of the All-Party Britain-Republic of Korea Parliamentary Group, he has been striving to promote peace and encourage dialogue between representatives of both North and South Korea and to enhance the understanding among British parliamentarians. He was previously a Deputy Speaker in Westminster Hall and has been in the past Vice President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly for a full term. Currently he is a Rapporteur Genéral of the Defence and Security Council Committee of NATO-PA.

H.E. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Chun Yung-woo

Mr. Chun Yung-woo was accredited to the Court of Saint James’s as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea on 29 May 2008. Before taking up his duties as Ambassador to the United Kingdom, he served as the Republic of Korea’s Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs and, in that capacity, led the ROK Delegation in the Six-Party Talks. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1977 and had Foreign Service postings to Paris, Rabat, Vienna and New York.
