Many LKL followers may also be tuning in to Gugak Sounds on SOAS Radio, in which presenter and SOAS student Dami Eniola shares her passion of Korean traditional music and contemporary music using traditional instruments. We’re now in to Season 2, in which she will be focusing on folk music such as sanjo, but in the first two episodes she has been covering sinawi and the music of contemporary fusion band Bulsechul.

Bulsechul’s music will appeal to fans of Jambinai and Baramgot. Dami played some of their music in the last season of broadcasts, but it has been difficult for the general public to get hold of – until now. But since 8 October their first commercial album has been available on iTunes, priced at £6.32. Well worth a listen.
