Belated congratulations to London based violist Julie Park for winning the prestigious Arts Club Sir Karl Jenkins Award in October. She follows violinists Songha Choi, who won second prize in 2019, and Joo Yeon Sir who won the prize in 2014.
Julie Park performs tomorrow in Korean Cultural Centre UK’s ‘Home Theatre’ season of online classical music recitals, in lieu of their popular ‘House Concert’ series normally held at the KCC. Full details here

Thanks for spotting this Andrew. I had completely missed the news.
I always like it when musicians pick up neglected British music: I see from the Classic FM article that in the award finals she played a movement of a York Bowen sonata, and as I write this I’m listening to her playing Frank Bridge at the Home Theatre concert. Joo Yeon is another musician who’s happy to play British music: the first time I went to hear her live she was playing the Vaughan Williams sonata, which you hardly ever hear played.
