ReMidas

As part of Korean Culture Month, ReMidas will be performing Korean Traditional music with the gayageum and the geomungo, two traditional Korean instruments.

ReMidas is a duo featuring two exciting Korean musicians: Ji Hyun Park, who impressed UK audiences in 2019 with an outstanding performance as leader of Hey String, and Min-Young Kim, one of the foremost geomungo performers of her generation.

This duo is coming to the UK for the K-Music Festival 2022 but they will also join the Korea Culture Month at Foyles to showcase their music beforehand. This would be great opportunity to take a peek at their music before they perform at the festival. ReMidas will be also be performing with Dal:Um at Milton Court, Barbican Centre on the 5th of October. This will be another great opportunity to experience a traditional Korean performance with a twist.

Though rooted in traditional Korean music, the two artists have been exploring and developing timbres and techniques through improvisation, creating sounds that break musical boundaries. The duo released their first full-length album ESSENTIAL in 2021, which uses the natural sounds of the instruments to explore deep inside their compositions.
