The British Korean Society holds its annual dinner on 8 December in the House of Lords, held in collaboration with the Korean Embassy to mark the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UK & the Republic of Korea.

Viscount Trenchard

Hugh Trenchard, 3rd Viscount Trenchard DL, is an investment banker and a member of the House of Lords. He has visited Korea regularly since 1982 and was responsible for Kleinwort Benson’s operations in the country for several years. He has served as a Senior Advisor on Korea to Prudential Financial, Inc.

HE The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Yeocheol Yoon

Ambassador Yoon has worked in various sectors in the Foreign Ministry and its overseas missions, including in the United States and the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. He served as the Chief of Protocol at the United Nations in 2012, assisting then Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, and served in the same role at the South Korean presidential office in 2016. He served as the South Korean Ambassador to Egypt in 2018-2020.
