
Korea Day is coming to Cambridge! Join Cambridge University Library librarians and special guests for an unforgettable celebration of modern and traditional Korean books and culture.
Activities
- Korean bookmaking: Learn the basics of this ancient craft in a Hanji workshop led by paper artist and book maker, Yvette Ja.
- Embroidery: Korean embroidery is a traditional handicraft. Enjoy this demonstration of the artform with embroidery artist, Heehwa Jo.
- Pop-up display: Find out about our Korean collections at the University Library with this pop-up display curated by our Korean collection librarians.
- VR experience: A unique opportunity to experience Korea cultural heritage through art graphic forms.
Plus special talks: Hear a warm welcome and a short talk on Korean Aesthetics from Dr Seunghye Sun, Director of the Korean Culture Centre UK. Followed by a talk from author Juhea Kim, author of Beasts of a Little Land.
This event is being held in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Centre UK.
