After a break from London last year, Korean Eye is back, bigger than ever, taking over the whole of the Saatchi Gallery – not just a couple of rooms. All the works are owned by the Korean Eye organisation, but this exhibition has been independently curated. A great contribution to all the Korean cultural events happening in London during the Olympics.
Korean Eye 2012
26 July – 23 September 2012
Koo Sungsoo: Tour Bus, from the series Magical Reality, on show at the Saatchi Gallery
The exhibition presents the largest survey of new Korean art to date, and highlights an exciting group of artists who have recently emerged on the global art scene, producing work that provides an arresting insight into the future of contemporary art in Korea. Korean Eye 2012 provides a unique platform to bring contemporary Korean art to a new international audience.
It will also be the first time the Saatchi Gallery has helped curate an exhibition of this scale from work outside its own collection, selecting the final 33 artists from Korean Eye's long list of 2000 artists who entered over 28,000 works for consideration. Korean Eye 2012 features work by:
