On the first Saturday in May, the City of Cardiff will be celebrating everything Korean. We understand that the event’s opening will have a high-profile VIP: none other than the Lord Mayor of Cardiff will be giving a welcome speech. Last year’s events in Sheffield and elsewhere were a big hit, so make your way to Cardiff to join the fun if you can.

This May, we are delighted to announce that our first Korea Day will make its way Wales!
Y mis Mai hon rydym yn falch i gyhoeddi dydd Korea yng Nghymru! Bydd yr ddigwyddiad hon yr un cyntaf o ei fath i gyflwyno diwylliant Korea i Gymru mewn digwyddiad unigol. Bydd Dydd Korea yn dydd o ddathlu popeth o Korea a bydd yn canolbwyntio ar rhannu agweddau traddodiadol a modern o diwylliant Korea. Bydd nifer o ragleni diwyllianol yn llenwi Y Plas yn Undeb Myfyrwyr Prifysgol Caerdydd gyda blas unigryw o Korea.
Korea Day is a day-long celebration of everything Korean that focuses upon sharing both traditional and modern aspects of K-culture. A selection of cultural programmes will fill the Y Plas at the University of Cardiff’s Student Union. Some of these programmes include, but are not limited to:

Korea Day in Wales is organised by KChoreo, The University of Cardiff’s K-Pop Dance Society, JPG – The University of Swansea’s K-pop Dance Society, Purple A London K-pop group and is supported by the KOFICE and Korean Culture Centre UK.
