London based Korean piri player, vocalist and composer Seayool Kim has teamed up with singer and song-collector Worldwide Welshman for an intriguing artistic collaboration. The venue, The Poplar Union, is a friendly spacious community venue, easily reached by DLR or bus. It serves delicious food and even has its own bakery par excellence. The gig is free and no booking is required – just show up and enjoy!

SEAYOOL and Worldwide Welshman have reimagined traditional folk music and melodies from Wales, infusing them with a contemporary sound to present to audiences.

Based in London from South Korean musician SEAYOOL is teaming up with Welsh musician Worldwide Welshman to present the project ‘From Ancient Songs: Wales’ as part of their World Music Project.

This performance is a musical exploration of forgotten elements, highlighting SEAYOOL’s commitment to uncovering the beauty and significance through music. ‘From Ancient Songs: Wales’ follows the success of the previously released project, ‘From Ancient Songs: Taiwan’, and marks the second collaboration in SEAYOOL’s ongoing World Music Project.

The performance will feature five newly composed tracks created in Machynlleth, Wales. SEAYOOL and Worldwide Welshman have reimagined traditional folk music and melodies from Wales, infusing them with a contemporary sound to present to audiences.

The ‘From Ancient Songs: Wales’ performance will take place at Poplar Union on 28th July. Audiences will have the opportunity to experience the renowned music project, where SEAYOOL and Worldwide Welshman bring to life the beauty and history of Welsh music through their collaboration.

As part of SEAYOOL’s World Music Project, this performance aims to promote cultural diversity and preserve heritage through the power of music.
