Korean art group 4482 (SASAPARI) showcases inspirational artworks by 17 Korean female artists in Kingston, home of the largest Korean community in Europe.

In collaboration with Kingston Museum, Korean art group 4482 (SASAPARI) presents an exhibition showcasing inspirational artworks by 17 Korean women artists in Kingston, home of the largest Korean community in Europe. This special exhibition offers an insight into these artists’ diverse experiences of self-discovery.

The Korean artists featured in the exhibition include (in alphabetical order) Betty Kim, Dina Jin Bae, Ellen Warner, Eunjung Seo Feleppa, Insuk Kwon, Jeongyeon Kim, Jiyeon Ryu, Min Kim, Mi-Young Choi, Nayoung Jeong, Soobin Lee, Soo Hyun Lee, Soon Yul Kang, Sunny Rebecca Choi, Suyoung Park, Yeonjoo Cho, and Yula Kim. Through a wide range of mediums – ceramics, sculptures, photographs, videos, paintings, and performance art – these talented individuals invite us to explore their past, present, and heritage.

The exhibition also expands the representation of ‘K-Women’ to other female artists associated with Kingston, such as pioneering Estonian sculptor Dora Gordine. It displays a selection of artworks from the collections of Kingston Museum and Dorich House Museum, Kingston University. Together with the works of Korean artists, they demonstrate the brilliance of women artists across generations and cultures.

‘K-Women: Celebrating Korean Female Artists’ is generously supported by the Arts Council England and many Korean corporations and art organisations.

Since its establishment in 2007, 4482[SASAPARI], a non-profit art organisation, has cherished the artistic connection between Korea and the UK. It has become a vital platform for promoting artistic exchange and showcasing contemporary Korean art.
