Spend an afternoon exploring the courageous journeys of North Koreans as they escape in search of one united Korea. “One Korea: Escape in Search of a United Korea” will take you through personal stories of struggle and hope, giving voice to the resilience of the North Korean people.

The event features the screening of Dotori, a powerful North Korean film that sheds light on the emotional and physical challenges of those fleeing the North. Following the film, engage in a unique Q&A with the director, offering deep insights into the making of the film and the true stories that shaped it.

We are honoured to welcome Karen Yu, a North Korean defector, who will share her personal escape story and her reflections on the hope for Korean reunification. Her talk will set the stage for this important and moving afternoon.

The event will also include a special musical performance that reflects the rich cultural traditions of Korea, followed by a reception where you can enjoy authentic North Korean noodles hosted by North Korean local seniors, offering a rare glimpse into the tastes of their homeland.
