Poster: Lee Youngsil: Ceramic Gardens in Bloom

Lee Youngsil: Ceramic Gardens in Bloom reimagines the relationship between ceramics, flowers, and nature, blending nostalgia with artistic creativity. Incorporating ceramic elements onto her canvases, Lee portrays simplified forms of flowers and birds, inspired by her childhood memories and the traditional Korean five colours (obang-saek, 오방색). Her works, part of the series Ceramics, Flowers and Nature, evoke a poetic harmony where the tactile depth of ceramics meets the vibrant beauty of floral imagery, creating dreamlike compositions that invite reflection.

Lee’s art bridges abstraction and storytelling, reflecting her meditative journey to capture the innocence and joy of youth. Through playful motifs and layered textures, she recreates the essence of nature as a realm of purity and serenity. The exhibition features sixteen paintings that celebrate warmth, nostalgia, and imagination, offering audiences a space to revisit their own memories and connect with the gentle beauty of the natural world.
