Gallery events related to the Future’s Future’s Future exhibition at the KCC

The Korean Cultural Centre’s third annual exhibition of young Korean artists ends on 19 February. This month there are several events related to the exhibition, as set out below:

The Korean Cultural Centre UK presents the 3rd annual exhibition of contemporary art by UK based Korean Artists. Future’s Future’s Future brings together the exciting and inspiring work of eight Korean artists, each living and working in the UK.

The exhibition has a range of accompanying free public programmes and events. The programmes will give visitors the opportunity to understand and interact with the artists and their artworks. Also, the exhibition team will hold a Gallery Tour every day, explaining the themes behind the pieces and the exhibition.

FREE PUBLIC PROGRAMMES AND EVENTS (February 2011)

I. Conversations with the Participating Artists
Name: ‘Questions from the Future, ask the artists’
Date/Time: 08. 02. 2011 (Tue) 16:00 – 18:00
Venue: Korean Cultural Centre, Exhibition Hall
Subject: Each of the participating artists will give a presentation relating to their works, followed by the opportunity to ask some questions. This informal event will allow you to meet the artists and better understand their works and ideas.

II. Workshop with the Artist Jung Pyo HONG
Name: ‘Future’s Doughnut’
Date/Time: 12. 02. 2011 (Sat) 12:00 – 17:00
Venue: Korean Cultural Centre Exhibition Hall
Subject: This workshop programme has been inspired by Jung Pyo HONG’s work Artactually-Krispykreme: HONG will lead the workshop where visitors will be able to make their own pieces using clay or resin.

III. Gallery Tours
Name: Gallery Tours
Date/Time: 24. 01. 2011(Mon) – 28. 02. 2011 (Mon)
Venue: Korean Cultural Centre Exhibition Hall
Subject: These Gallery Tours (5 or more people) will be held daily by a member of the Exhibition Team, they can be booked in advanced by calling or emailing the contact details below. The Tour will explore and explain the concept of the exhibition and each artwork, after which there will be a short discussion and Q&A session.
