Books and Literature
- In case you hadn’t noticed already, this is the month of the London Book Fair (8 – 10 April), in which Korea is the market focus. A complete chronological list of talks and other events related to the fair can be found in LKL’s special LBF events page.
- Outside of London, there are events in Cambridge (6 April), Edinburgh (10 April) and Aberystwyth (11 April)
Film
- In the KCC’s year of the screen professionals we move on to cinematographer Jeong Jeong-hoon, who has worked closely with Park Chan-wook among others. Screenings (to be announced) are anticipated on 10 and 24 April.
- The last of the Novels on Screen programme, Moss, is on 1 April at the KCC
Exhibitions
- Tak Ki-young’s exhibition of photographs of Joseon funerary statues continues at Mokspace until 12 April
- Chun Kwang-young’s stunning show at Bernard Jacobson Gallery closes on 17 April
- Leonard Johansson’s solo show continues at Hanmi Gallery until 27 April
- Kim Jihee’s solo show continues at cueB Gallery until 27 April
- Park Seungmo has a solo show at HADA Contemporary starting 3 April
- Linking with the Book Fair, the KCC’s exhibition of early Korean printing opens on 7 April
Music
- The European Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea has a fundraiser on 2 April, featuring classical music and a talk by a North Korean refugee
- Boy Band B.A.P will be playing the Brixton Academy on 27 April as part of their Live on Earth tour.
