It’s August, so it’s time to head up to Edinburgh for the fringe. A summary of all the Korean performers can be found here.
Otherwise, there’s the regular programme of events in London which includes the following:
Film
- The third of the KCC’s “Teaser screenings” for the London Korean Film Festival 2016 is Himalaya, at the Regent Street Cinema on 4 August.
- The KCC’s season of films focusing on humour features Save the Green Planet (one of our favourites) on 11 August and No 3 (another good one) on 25 August.
- Barking Dogs Never Bite screens at the Deptford Cinema on 19 August.
- Frightfest contains two UK or English Premieres: Karaoke Crazies on 27 August and Train to Busan on 29 August.
Exhibitions
- The KCC’s summer exhibition, Korean Contemporary Objects, A New Approach, opens on 1 August.
Performance
- Ongals / Babbling Comedy are at Kingston Rose Theatre on 5 August.
- EDP perform their version of Taming of the Shrew on 8 August at the KCC before taking it up to Edinburgh.
- Bongsu Park’s Crossing Over — Ritual of Grief is on 13 and 20 August
- The fourth of the Korea Sounds concerts is at King’s Place on 24 August.
Everything else
- There’s a workshop on Korean Shakespeare adaptations at the KCC on 8 August, followed by a performance
- The KCC’s literature night on 25 August features Jung Young Moon’s A Contrived World
- The monthly Sewol silent protest is in front of the National Gallery on 20 August.
