Made in North Korea: Everyday Graphics from the DPRK

23 Feb – 13 May 2018
Tuesday – Sunday 10:00am – 6:00pm
House of Illustration | 2 Granary Square | King’s Cross | London N1C 4BH | www.houseofillustration.org.uk

The UK’s first ever exhibition of graphic design from North Korea, revealing a style honed over decades in a closed society.

From the Nick Bonner collection

Common objects including posters, sweet wrappers and stamps give a extraordinary and rare insight into everyday life in the DPRK. The exhibition draws from the collection of Nicholas Bonner, author of Made in North Korea (Phaidon).

The book of the same name was extensively reviewed when it came out towards the end of last year. See Guardian | Independent | Creative Review | Design Week | ArtSpace | British Journal of Photography
