groove& is a dynamic all-female percussion ensemble that specializes in reinterpreting, composing, and performing songs rooted in traditional Korean music. Their groundbreaking contributions to Korean music were recently acknowledged with the Grand Prize from the esteemed 21st Century Korean Music Project.

DUO BUD are a remarkable Korean folk duo whose artistic vision is deeply rooted in nature. So Ra Kim, the leader of DUO BUD, is a renowned Korean percussionist and composer. She is widely celebrated for her innovative fusion of Korean traditional percussion with other artistic forms, placing great emphasis on the artistic value of Korean percussion. Kim’s groundbreaking approach has earned her prestigious recognition as an official showcase artist at renowned music expos, including WOMEX 2018 and Mundial Montreal 2018.

In their breath-taking performances, DUO BUD seamlessly blends the enchanting melodies of the 25-stringed gayageum with the vibrant rhythms produced by percussion instruments. This unique composition showcases an intriguing contrast between the direct and explosive energies of the percussion and the lyrical string melodies. The percussions are also executed with meticulous precision, allowing the subtle sounds of breathing to be heard, while the Korean harp is played with a boldness reminiscent of electronic music, resulting in a harmonious fusion that expands the expressive realms of both percussion and melodic instruments.
