TOKYO PARK™ is proud to present its very first Korean Group Exhibition in London: Art and Seoul.

Its most recent curation will explore the Korean Urban Art Scene, detailing its Artistic Diversity, Colour, Social Landscape, and its unique Identity. This narrative, supported by Curator Martim Moreira Barroso from TOKYO PARK™, will present a diverse collection of paintings and colourful materials, created by a select group of talented Young and Established Artists: Dian Chung, Facyhosi, Jun Yejin, Nina Park, Saerom Jeong, Vagab and Yuja. The project will be displayed at Calder Contemporary, 261a City Road, London, EC1V 1AH, from May 16th to 19th 2025.

Each artist will share their contrasting aesthetic visions, characters and colour palette, yet all together form the Artworld of Seoul: Dian Chung creates near-monochromatic Pop-styled compositions with abstract backgrounds, centring our attention to one unknown Korean girl with blue eyes who enjoys lounging about; Facyhosi shares a strong bond between Affection and Nature, her compositions are made with melted wax on canvas and explore serene scenes of Love and Peace: couples embrace themselves, surrounded by a comforting field of flowers; Jun Yejin shares the story of an imaginary world, it illustrates a land of infinite Freedom and Dreams, explored by two orange-hooded characters and their dog who experience turquoise seas, and dense and colourful forests; Nina Park paints scenes of her personal, colourful life, but with a dreamy twist: filled with anthropomorphic cats and teddy bears, desserts, iced drinks, painted in pastel colours; Inspired by the Art of the Impressionists, Saerom Jeong captures colourful urban scenes through thick, dynamic paintbrushes, focussing our attention to faceless bystanders that walk through the composition; Vagab explores the social life of young adults in Seoul: cartoon-like yet realistic figures are presented enjoying enthusiastic dinners, travelling, dating, socialising with friends and peers or simply deep in thought; and Yuja draws our inner selves: according to the artist, we are but a disguise for our true selves – our young past which cloaks with an Adult veneer. These characters journey through a colourful yet seemingly incomplete physical world of introspection.

TOKYO PARK™ invites the reader to our preview event at Feelium Gallery, Notting Hill Gate, on May 16th 2025, from 5 to 8 PM. We encourage everyone to bring their friends and family to enjoy and celebrate the Spirit and Culture of Seoul: “The Artists and locals have welcomed me to their previews and homes, now it is my turn to invite all admirers of Korean Culture and Art Enthusiasts to our exhibition”
