The first showcase of a long-term, research-based project on the Korean diaspora, Temporal Topologies, is about to open in London.

Rooted in field research that began in New Malden — home to London’s Korean community — this exhibition sensorially explores the largely unseen North Korean migrant community through the lens of contemporary artists, Yihwa Kim and Ye-eun Kim, posing questions around division, time, and the shifting topographies of memory. The diverse perspectives and dialogues that emerge within the exhibition space will not merely remain as audience responses, but will serve as research material and critical ground for the project’s future development.
