Mikey Espinosa's Hanbok exhibition

Beauty of Hanbok (2025) is Mikey Espinosa’s sixth exhibition, following With Love, Korea, which explored the country’s diverse and breathtaking landscapes. This new body of work shifts focus to Hanbok, Korea’s traditional clothing. The word “Hanbok” translates to “Korean clothing” (Han meaning Korean people, Bok meaning clothing), a term created to distinguish it from Western and Japanese styles.

What You’ll See and Experience:

This exhibition is both a tribute to the elegance of Hanbok and to the people who have shaped Mikey’s journey. It invites you to reflect on the power of culture to connect us, and to experience the timeless beauty of Korea through its traditional dress. It also marks the launch of Mikey’s online store, KOLTURA, a platform dedicated to making Hanbok more accessible to audiences in the UK and celebrating cultural connection through fashion. Mikey shows his love for Hanbok through paintings of people he’s met in the Hanbok community. He works with different materials like acrylic, watercolor, and ink, often using traditional Hanji paper. Some of his pieces are also made in collaboration with Hanbok designers, combining his art with their creative vision.

Fashion show starts around 18:45 (on the opening night only)

Curator: Mikey Espinosa

About the curator:

Through travels in Korea, Mikey’s growing love for Hanbok led him to a passionate community that embraces and preserves this tradition. Welcomed with open arms, he witnessed how deeply culture is woven into everyday life in Korea how it brings people together, fosters understanding, and celebrates identity.
